Hi guys and gals! It's Jake the artist from  Barbincito Customs. It is past time for an update on my figure art. I'm sure you all understand that life and work will often inhibit hobbies like blogging about custom ideas and projects. No excuses though as I have actually been fortunate enough to continue this wonderful hobby of customizing action figures for Marvel Universe, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars to name a few. I'm so happy to have a creative outlet like this that not only allows me to have a sense of fulfillment but to make so many others happy along the way. I'm thankful for all of my customers who have made this possible for me.
 Many people know me from the custom figs that I sell on eBay and some also know my work from Instagram where i keep a relatively updated portfolio of my figure artwork. Recently I have branched out into another venue for marketing custom GI Joes and Custom Marvel action figures on etsy. I'm really excited about introducing a new product line for Barbincito Customs  on my etsy store for collectors that enjoy canvas paintings with a comic book  character theme.
I will be creating my own artistic interpretation of popular & obscure characters on canvas as I have done with customized figures. If you are a  custom figure collector or another customizer you should check out my new store! I will post individual pictures of these custom figures later on. In the photo we have Spiderman's girlfriend, the lovely Mary Jane Watson. In the center of the picture is "Sam", a  new character from my joe-verse. Sam is Gung-Ho's niece.It's kind of difficult to tell from the picture but Sam has a long blonde ponytail in the back. The next custom female on the far right is a female version of The Punisher. Action Figure Customizing tips about eBay  Like most toy customizers I tend to buy a lot of action figures, parts and accessories from eBay. You can find really great deals on for customizing figures when you buy custom fodder and figure lots. It's kind of like that old saying: one man's trash is another man's treasure. I don't know how many times I have taken a figure apart and for the recipe I needed and thought to myself what will I do with this fodder (left over pieces and parts). Most of the time I will save them for later use, other times I list my custom fodder on eBay. This is a good way to make extra money from customizing toys.Selling custom fodder on eBay is really a win-win for all parties involved. You get money to reinvest in your customizing business and someone else gets some parts they need to finish their own customizing projects or vice-versa.

How to Crack a Gi Joe Torso

How to crack a Gi Joe torso without losing any parts: There are a couple of basic ways to split an action figure torso when you're customizing. One is to slice it open with an x-acto knife. The other way is to use a vise to allow the pressure to crack the torso. I absolutely prefer the vice method rather than the x-acto cutting method for many reasons. For starters, it is really dangerous to cut into hard plastic with an x-acto knife - especially when the object you're cutting into is a small toy. You could injure yourself real quick like doing this. Besides risking damage to yourself, you also run the risk of creating a wider gap that can be problematic when you try to glue the torso together later on for another custom figure. So I don't recommend trying it this way. The vise method is the best in my opinion. Until last night I had be doing the standard "wrap your figure in a cloth, position, and turn" vice method.
